When plumbing problems involve interior pipes, or you just do not feel as though you should try to fix the problem. There is nothing wrong with admitting that this might be out of your element. Remember, it's better to spend a little money now than a lot later.
When electrical work involves dealing with major wiring. The risk of electrical shock is very real, and can happen even to professionals. However, they may be able to better determine if it is safe to continue.
